Rail & intermodal →Built specifically for wine
Wine is our focus. Our equipment, handling, routing, and communication are designed around temperature-sensitive wine shipments.
PWD combines our own refrigerated Texas fleet with carefully selected logistics partners when a shipment requires longer interstate, pallet, or intermodal transportation.
- Own refrigerated Texas fleet. Temperature-controlled delivery for qualifying local and regional movements.
- Wine-specific handling. Packing, labeling, hand loading, and reduced transfers where possible.
- Shipment visibility. Tracking, customer notifications, and documented delivery.
- Year-round operations. Refrigerated equipment supports wine transportation through Texas summer conditions.
Texas fleet, coordinated nationwide
Texas
PWD provides temperature-controlled delivery in Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston, with additional Texas routes available by request.
For rural Texas and destinations outside our regular refrigerated routes, wine can move through our DFW Skipping Zone for repacking, ice packs when appropriate, and delivery through an authorized parcel carrier. See DFW Skipping Zone →
Interstate & high-volume
Longer routes, pallet freight, and qualifying rail or intermodal movements are coordinated through vetted logistics partners, with PWD handling applicable Texas legs and final delivery.

Packing, inventory support, refrigerated transportation, short-term in-transit holding when needed, unloading, and cellar placement for private collectors, estates, and relocation partners.
A collection is not ordinary freight
Wine is heat-sensitive, fragile, heavy, and often irreplaceable. A standard moving truck can sit in the sun for hours; a general carrier may cross-dock a shipment several times. Neither is acceptable for a cellar you spent years building.
We plan the move around the wine: inventory before pickup, wine-specific packing, careful hand loading, temperature-controlled transportation, and as few transfers as possible.
We also work directly with moving and relocation companies, taking only the wine portion of a household or corporate move so the rest of the relocation can proceed normally.
Included in a collection move
- Inventory assistance. Documentation of what is being moved before it leaves.
- Wine-specific packing. Proper materials and labeling; we can pack, or move wine already in original wooden cases (OWC) or shippers.
- Hand loading and unloading. Careful handling at both ends, including stairs and cellar access.
- Temperature-controlled transport. Refrigerated equipment and temperature requirements planned for the route.
- Short-term in-transit holding coordination. For closing-date gaps and cellar build-outs when needed.
- Cellar placement. Unloading and placement at destination, not just a stack of boxes in the garage.

Receiving, cross-docking, consolidation, pallet handling, short-term in-transit holding, and coordinated rail or intermodal options through our DFW logistics network.
We operate a temperature-controlled facility in DFW for receiving, consolidation, cross-docking, and short-term holding of wine in transit. For qualifying larger-volume shipments, we can also coordinate rail-served receiving, intermodal drayage, transloading, and onward transportation through vetted logistics partners.
What happens at the DFW hub
Skipping Zone & Cross-Docking
Wine can transfer from refrigerated inbound line haul to PWD's local fleet or, when applicable, to an authorized parcel carrier. The DFW Skipping Zone shortens the parcel portion of the route and helps limit exposure to summer heat. More →
Receiving & Consolidation
Inbound pallets and cases are received, checked against paperwork, and consolidated as needed for local delivery or onward movement.
Short-Term Holding
Holding wine in transit while delivery dates, cellar access, or closing dates are confirmed.
Pallet Handling
Palletized receipt and handling for commercial volumes, including staging, repacking, and onward movement.
Rail & Intermodal Coordination
Coordinated rail-served receiving, drayage, and transloading for qualifying high-volume wine movements through vetted logistics partners.
Packing & Repacking
Wine-specific packing materials, labeling, repacking into appropriate shippers, and ice packs when appropriate for authorized parcel-carrier handoff.

A Texas skipping zone for the Southeast
Our DFW hub can act as a skipping zone for shipments continuing beyond Texas. This can reduce origin-side packing requirements and shorten the parcel portion of the route.
Wine can arrive refrigerated at our DFW hub, where PWD can repack it, add ice packs when appropriate, and release it to an authorized parcel carrier. This reduces the parcel portion of the route and limits exposure to summer heat.
When combined with refrigerated line haul, the skipping-zone model keeps wine temperature controlled for a larger portion of the transportation route.
A rail-connected option for larger wine shipments
For qualifying larger-volume shipments, PWD can coordinate rail and intermodal transportation through vetted logistics partners, including coordinated access to a rail-served DFW facility for qualifying Union Pacific-connected freight. Railroad, routing, equipment, schedule, and temperature requirements are confirmed for each shipment.
Depending on the lane and equipment, the movement can combine rail-served receiving, intermodal drayage, transloading, cross-docking, pallet handling, and refrigerated truck transportation for the next or final leg.
This option is designed for wineries, importers, distributors, fulfillment operations, and other high-volume shippers evaluating alternatives to long-haul truck-only transportation.
How the pieces fit together
- Rail-served receiving for qualifying inbound freight.
- Drayage between rail/intermodal terminals, warehouse facilities, and onward carriers when required.
- Transloading between rail, truck, and warehouse operations.
- Cross-docking & consolidation through the DFW logistics network.
- Refrigerated local/final-mile transportation for qualifying Texas movements.
Availability depends on route, shipment volume, rail equipment, transload requirements, schedule, and required temperature conditions.

Request a Quote →Wine people, running wine logistics
Premium Wine Delivery® is a TABC-permitted wine carrier specializing in temperature-controlled wine transportation, collection moving, and wine logistics services. Serving the wine industry since 2016.
PWD started with a simple idea: wine deserves a delivery experience designed around the product. Conventional parcel and general-freight networks are not built around temperature-sensitive bottles, narrow receiving windows, or the expectations of premium wine customers.
Our team gained firsthand experience with conventional wine-delivery networks and saw the same recurring challenges: limited delivery visibility, broad time windows, repeated handling, summer heat exposure, and added fees.
PWD was built as the alternative. Today we combine refrigerated Texas delivery, private collection moving, DFW cross-dock and consolidation, commercial wine logistics, and coordinated interstate solutions.
How we work
Year-Round Temperature Control
Our refrigerated operations are designed to protect wine in Texas heat and throughout temperature-controlled transportation.
Fewer hands, fewer transfers
Direct and dedicated transportation wherever possible, with reduced handling and cross-docking.
Real communication
Scheduling that works around the recipient, live tracking, and documented proof of delivery.
Partnerships, press, and what clients say

Amy Gross, CEO and Founder, VineSleuth / Wine4.Me
“Texas weather extremes result in problems with quality wine delivery. The wines arrived on time and in excellent condition, each bottle cool to the touch. This company is now our preferred means of wine delivery.”

Terms & Conditions
Shipping Agreement and Terms & Conditions for Premium Wine Delivery® services.
Effective date: August 12, 2026. These terms apply when incorporated into a quote, shipment, account agreement, or website request accepted by the customer.
1. Parties and Scope
Premium Wine Delivery, referred to as PWD, provides wine transportation and related logistics services. The customer tendering or arranging the shipment is referred to as the Shipper. The person or business receiving the shipment is referred to as the Recipient.
PWD operates under Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Carrier's Permit #200146816. PWD acts as a carrier and does not buy or sell wine. PWD may refer a customer to an independent appraiser or auction house. PWD is not a party to any resulting sale and does not take title to wine. The Farmers Branch facility supports receiving, consolidation, cross-docking, pallet handling, and short-term holding of wine in transit. It is not presented as a retail outlet or long-term wine storage service.
2. Shipment Information and Packaging
The Shipper must provide complete and accurate contact, pickup, delivery, and shipment information. Incorrect or incomplete information may cause delays and additional charges.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, one case means 1-12 standard 750 ml bottles with a maximum case weight of 41 lbs. Additional charges may apply to heavier or unusually configured cases.
The Shipper is responsible for packaging wine for safe transportation unless packing services are included in PWD's written quote. Third-party line-haul shipments may require palletization, shrink-wrap, or other protective preparation.
The Shipper confirms it is entitled to provide any personal information it gives PWD about a Recipient or other third party, and that PWD may use it to perform and document the shipment.
3. Alcohol Compliance and Delivery
The Shipper is responsible for ensuring that each shipment complies with applicable federal, state, and local alcohol laws and shipping requirements. PWD may refuse or hold a shipment that appears improperly identified, documented, or tendered.
Wine deliveries requiring adult signature will be released only to a recipient age 21 or older who presents valid government-issued identification.
Shipments to commercial locations may be delivered to an authorized central receiving area, front desk, loading dock, or other designated receiving point.
4. Cargo Coverage and Claims
Available cargo coverage depends on shipment type, declared value, route, packaging, and the carrier or logistics partner involved. Any applicable coverage limits, charges, exclusions, and claim requirements will be confirmed in the written quote, invoice, or shipment documentation before transportation.
The Shipper must retain invoices, receipts, packaging, and other documentation reasonably required to support a claim. Visible damage should be reported at delivery when practical. Claims must be submitted within the time stated in the applicable shipment documentation or coverage terms.
PWD will assist with claims involving services it arranged. Coverage determinations remain subject to the applicable insurance policy, carrier terms, declared value, and supporting documentation.
5. Pricing, Payment, and Additional Charges
Unless the Shipper has approved account terms, charges are due before pickup or as otherwise stated in the written quote or invoice. Approved account customers must pay according to their invoiced terms. Past-due balances may incur charges permitted by the applicable agreement and law.
Additional charges may apply for services outside the original quote, including repacking, unusual access, rural or remote delivery, redelivery, excess weight, waiting time, or other requested services. Any applicable card or payment-processing fee will be disclosed before payment.
6. Delivery Attempts, Returns, and Unclaimed Shipments
Unless otherwise stated in the applicable service agreement, PWD DtC delivery includes two delivery attempts and one reasonable reschedule, redirect, or address-change request submitted before the delivery route is finalized.
If a shipment cannot be delivered, PWD may return it to the DFW facility or another designated location. The Shipper is responsible for applicable return, holding, redelivery, or onward transportation charges.
If the Shipper does not provide instructions or pay required charges after written notice, PWD may treat the shipment as unclaimed and handle or dispose of it only as permitted by applicable law and the governing transportation agreement.
7. Logistics Partners
PWD may use vetted logistics partners for interstate transportation, pallet freight, rail or intermodal services, drayage, transloading, or other transportation outside PWD's own fleet. Equipment, temperature requirements, routing, and transfer points are established based on the shipment.
When the Shipper selects its own carrier or logistics provider, that provider must meet the receiving, packaging, appointment, and handling requirements established for the shipment.
8. Tracking and Proof of Delivery
Where available, PWD provides shipment notifications, tracking information, and Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation. POD may include an electronic recipient signature, photographs, geolocation, delivery notes, or failed-attempt information. Photographs and geolocation may be captured where the delivery system supports them and are not guaranteed for every shipment.
9. Notifications and Text Messages
By accepting these Terms, providing a mobile number, or using PWD services, the Shipper and Recipient consent to receive calls and text messages from PWD or its delivery platform about the shipment, including scheduling, driver ETA, delivery attempts, and delivery confirmation. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop shipment texts, or HELP for help. PWD does not send marketing or promotional text messages without separate express written consent. Where the Shipper supplies a Recipient's mobile number, the Shipper confirms it is entitled to provide that number for this purpose.
10. Limitation and Entire Agreement
PWD is responsible for services within the scope of the accepted quote or transportation agreement, subject to applicable law, declared value, cargo coverage, carrier terms, and any agreed limitations. PWD is not responsible for delays or losses caused by inaccurate shipment information, unlawful tender, inadequate customer-provided packaging, acts of third-party carriers outside the agreed scope, or events beyond reasonable control, except where liability cannot lawfully be limited.
These Terms, together with the accepted quote, invoice, account agreement, shipment documentation, and any incorporated carrier or insurance terms, form the agreement governing the applicable service. If a written quote or signed agreement contains a specific term that conflicts with these general Terms, the more specific written term controls for that shipment. PWD's Privacy Policy describes how information is collected and used and forms part of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Venue for any dispute lies in Dallas County, Texas.

How Premium Wine Delivery handles information submitted through this website.
Effective date: August 12, 2026.
Premium Wine Delivery® is operated by PWD Services LLC, a TABC-permitted carrier in Farmers Branch, Texas. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with.
Information We Collect
When you request a quote, contact us, or track a shipment, we may collect contact details, pickup and delivery addresses, shipment information, declared value, service preferences, and anything else you choose to tell us.
When we perform a delivery we record Proof of Delivery (POD): the recipient's signature, the name of the person who accepted the shipment, the time, one or more photographs of the delivered wine at the delivery point, and location data where our system captures it. Deliveries of alcohol require an adult signature, so our driver checks government-issued photo identification at the door. We record that ID was verified. We do not retain a copy of the document.
Information About Other People
Most shipments involve someone other than the person booking them. If you give us a recipient's name, address, or phone number, you confirm you are entitled to share it with us. We use it only to complete and document that shipment, and we handle it the same way we handle yours.
How We Use Information
To prepare quotes, plan and perform transportation, communicate about shipments, provide tracking and proof of delivery, take payment, keep business records, and meet legal, tax, insurance, and alcohol-carrier obligations.
Email and Text Messages
When you give us a phone number for a shipment, we may text you about that shipment — scheduling, driver ETA, delivery confirmation. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop shipment texts, or HELP for assistance. We will not send you marketing or promotional texts unless you separately agree to receive them.
Tracking Look-ups
Shipment status, signatures, and delivery photographs are only shown after both a tracking number and a matching email address or phone number are entered. This is deliberate: a tracking number alone will not reveal delivery details.
Service Providers and Logistics Partners
We share information with service providers and logistics partners only as reasonably necessary to quote, arrange, transport, track, insure, or deliver a shipment. Card payments are handled by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers.
We may also disclose information where required by law, by TABC or another regulator, or to establish or defend a legal claim. PWD does not sell personal information, and does not share it with advertisers.
Website Data
Our host records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and pages viewed, for security and to keep the site running. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party ad tracking. If we add analytics later, we will update this policy first.
Retention and Security
We keep business and shipment records as long as reasonably necessary for operations, customer service, claims, accounting, insurance, and legal obligations, and then delete or archive them. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that a transmission over the internet is.
Your Choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, stop shipment texts by replying STOP, or unsubscribe from any email we send. Ask through the contact details in the footer of this site and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Adults Only
This site and our services concern the transportation of alcohol and are intended for adults of legal drinking age. The site is not directed to anyone under 21, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.
Changes and Contact
If we change this policy we will post the revised version here with a new effective date. Questions about privacy, or a request about your information, can go to the email address and telephone number in the footer of this site, or by post to PWD Services LLC, 3323 Garden Brook Dr, Farmers Branch, TX 75234.
